Biography: 
1971 Born in Warsaw (PL)
Agnieszka Kalinowska famous for her sculpture and video installations. A frequent motive of her works is tension and uncomfortable feeling, both physical and psychical. As in "I'm here on business" (2004) video installation, where the artist and her art curator are talking about exhibition details both tied with a rope. Agnieszka's earlier three-dimensional works and objects are also specially sensitive to material ("elastic" sculptures made of elastic bands, installations with streamers and confetti). In her latest works made of straw on lining and hardboard, workshop resourcefulness is combined with the artist's characteristic motives: threat, uncertainty and violence.
