He attends the Fine Arts School in Naples.
In 1968 he moves to Rome where he concludes his studies and graduates. In Rome Tamburro begins to show his works in some galleries, having many good feedbacks from the general public and the critics.
In 1969, in Isernia, he paints a series of frescoes in the church of San Felice.
Between the 1970 and 1973 the painter frequents the cultural circles of Naples and Rome making friends with Orfeo Tamburi, Domenico Purificato, Giorgio De Chirico, Fausto Pirandello.
In 1978 he is asked to teach at the arts school of Spoleto. In 1981 he quits teaching to devote himself entirely to painting. Many arts magazines begin to show interest in his works having plenty of reviews about him.
In 1983 an important exhibition of his own is housed in prestigious Palazzo Comunale of Perugia. In 1984 a joint exhibition with Burri, De Gregorio and Rambaldi is mounted.
In 1985 he makes a big fresco in the church of S. Maria Assunta in Perugia and a mural in Dozza, in the province of Bologna, where many of the most important Italian artists have painted in fresco the facades of the buildings.
In 1988 the painter is asked to follow Il Giro d'Italia by the organizing committee to make a set of paintings about cycle races, which afterwords was showed in the stopping cities. Three years later, an exhibition of his own titled "Le Giuliette di Tamburro" is mounted in Giulietta's House in Verona. The same year Tamburro exhibits in Germany, Hamburg and Toronto.
In Genuary 2000 a set of his works is showed in "Art Miami 2000" exhibition.
