Portraits of friends and recently also landscapes have been the constituents of Mike Silva´s lavish paintings. Starting with portraits that show only the person´s face in close up with just a monochrome background Silva has now been depicting his models from a more distant point of view, located in landscapes. His painting is masterful, almost traditional, the palette using an increasing range of intense colours, up to a degree where his latest works of atmospheric landscapes almost take a psychedelic twist.
