 Biography:  Professor Pandelis G.Lazaridis (PhD 1974) is actually the President of the School of Architecture, University of Thessaly. He has also been a professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1977-1998), at the University of Geneva (1969-1975) and had also taught at the Federal Polytechnic School of Lauzanne. He has been the founding President of the University of Thessaly (1984-1990) and later on has been elected as the Rector of the same University (1998-2002). Pandelis G..Lazaridis (1941-Thessaloniki) initially studied Civil Engineering but soon he turned studying Painting and Architecture in the Polytechnic School of the University of Thessaloniki. He has been a student to the Studio of painter Professor Christos Lefakis and later on he has worked at the Studio of Visual Arts.of the School of Architecture. During the period 1975-1977 he was Assistant professor at the Chair of Painting and the Studio of Visual Arts. He first exhibited on1963 and then continued with several solo and group exhibitions in Greece, Europe and USA. He has participated at the International Bienale of Alexandria (1976). His works can be found in private and public collections.in Greece and abroad. Recently he had a solo exhibition of his project "Archive Readings://Urban Bits" (Athens) and took part to "DreamScapes" a group exhibition of painters working within the context of Architecture and Urban Design (Volos). A retrospective exhibition of his work (1962-2007) is now preparing to be organized at the Benaki Museum (2008). He has been the author and editor of many books treating mainly the social origins and function of the City, the Architecture and Urbanism and the Art. Pandelis G.
