Paolo Troilo CV as pdf-File
His art combines originality in formal procedure: his own hands. He uses one hand to spread acrylic colour, the other to holds up a cell-phone which he uses to take a picture of his face. Troilo's palette is set on two colours: ivory and grey, ridding any half tones. This confers a force and vigour to each brush stroke.
The overall picture is constructed around a particular physiognomic trait, like a nose or mouth, which extends to become the entire face.
As illustrated by the scream, expressiveness in his work is evoked through the strong emotions he transmits. They represent the violence of the inner most sentiments and the deepest pulsions.
