'Another Tribute to Black on White'
Photography, Work on Paper and Mixed Media by
Pidder Auberger - At its center is his abstract work. Coming from painting and drawing, he began working with photography in the 1970s and produced his first woodcuts and clichés-verre in the 1980s. Characteristic of Auberger's work is an experimental approach to the media, which he extends unconventionally and combines.
Chi Kuo-chang - Inspired by the work of Surrealist painter Joan Miro (1893-1983), Chi was determined to move beyond the realist framework built in to the camera, melding painting aesthetics into the world of photographic scenery to create new images that blend together the real and the abstract.
Wolfgang Herbold - transforms existing visual results like photographs, Illustrations, screen shots, using analog and digital processes leaving hardly any hint about, what has been the surface before. The microcosm of his images and sculptures is fragmented and gives expression to the pleasure of de-hierarchization.
Max Uhlig - creative career has been accompanied by numerous awards and prizes. He received the 2nd Prize at the 21st Sao Paulo Biennale and was awarded the gold medal of the 10th "Norsk International Print Triennal Fredrikstad" in 1992. 1995 to 2002 Max Uhlig taught as a professor at the "Hochschule für Bildende Künste" in Dresden. |
