Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
we are pleased to announce our upcoming exhibition:
BARTHÉLÉMY TOGUO "The Wildcats Diner"
opening: June 2, 2006, 7 pm
duration: June 3 – June 305, 2006
Barthélémy Toguo will be present at the opening.
After his marvellous exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo in the year 2004, we are pleased to show works of Barthélémy Toguo (* 1967 in Cameroon) for the first time in Austria.
Barthélémy Toguo's art is motivated by socio-political issues, focussing on themes of migration, location and identity. Using most media – drawing, photography, performance, sculpture and video – the artist brings to the fore social inequalities and questions prevailing sentiments. "By looking at our contemporary society, I feel like being a stream of water of sorts, being the wind, being a migrating bird, being here and there. To eat a baguette, to dance Samba, to climb up the Alps, in brief to leave, leave, leave." (Barthélémy Toguo)
We are pleased to welcome you in our gallery.
