CCA Andratx is opening its exhibition season, presenting works from the ART FOUNDATION MALLORCA COLLECTION. The internationally recognized curators Barry Schwabsky, Friederike Nymphius and the director of the Kunsthalle, Patricia Asbaek, use their experience and instinct for new art to select and purchase works of the highest quality for Art Foundation Mallorca. They each have detailed insight into the Nordic, European, American and British art scene. This is fundamental in order to achieve the aim of Art Foundation Mallorca: collecting contemporary art of extreme quality from upcoming and already recognized artists from all over the world.
Photography, paintings, sculpture, drawings or ceramics are some of the techniques represented by international artists, coming from India, the United States of America and Greece, among other countries.
AFM & CCA Andratx
The aim of CCA Andratx is to create the ideal facilities, allowing the artist staying in one of the four studios to test his or her talent to the limit. Interesting synergies occur when the resident artists inspire each other or use each other as critics, converting the resideny in a fantastic experience. Today some of Europe's leading artists apply for residency with us. Clearly the dream of giving artists comfortable living conditions and an open and spiritual environment has been realised.
The driving forces behind the centre are the world class exhibitions that it hosts. Some of the most respected curators have organised exhibitions in the impressive rooms. CCA Andratx is an attractive place to have a show, even for world-famous names.
These conditions work in AFM's favour. Through CCA, AFM has access to very special artists which would not be possible by traditional means. This enables AFM to buy masterpieces for its investment pool. But AFM is doing even more by visiting the most emblatic places of the art world in their search for works.
This is a unique opportunity to see the extraordinary art works of Art Foundation Mallorca Collection, assembled here at the CCA. You are welcome to take a look.
