Conner Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the exhibition of David Levinthal's photographic series devoted to America's most beloved pastime: "Baseball" (1998 -2004).

Levinthal's handsome Polaroids feature vintage toy figures of baseball legends including Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, and Joe DiMaggio in signature poses. The artist designed stadium sets to provide an atmospheric background for these icons of popular culture. We are happy to celebrate the completion of this landmark series with the release of a limited edition cibachrome of Babe Ruth in his famous 'home run pose'.

Levinthal is an internationally renowned pioneer of the Fabrication movement in photography whose works are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, NY, the National Museum of American Art, Washington, DC, the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY, the Brooklyn Museum, NY, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris, France, Eurostar, Graz, Austria, the Eileen and Peter Norton Collection, Santa Monica, CA, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA.

There will be an opening night reception Friday, April 2nd, 6 - 8 pm, at Conner Contemporary Art. David Levinthal will speak on his work, Saturday, April 3rd @2pm. RSVP appreciated.

Conner Contemporary Art is located in Dupont Circle 1730 Connecticut Avenue, NW 2nd Floor, Washington, DC, 20009. For further information and/or visuals, please contact Leigh Conner @ 202-588-8750 or
