The first exhibition of Elena Shaydorova: "Freeze frame" will take place in the art gallery D137 from December, 15, 2009 until January, 15, 2010.
"Freeze frame" is a wonderful opportunity to make a pause and examine in detail what has been done, slowly think over it and draw a conclusion.
Being a genuine artist, Elena is able to catch a moment, to find something surprising in familiar and ordinary things, and capture indistinctive features in faces of well-known and famous people that we think we know by heart.
The exhibition consists of two parts.
The first one is composed of the author's impressions about Spain. By the way, in Elena's veins flows Mediterranean blood. Therefore, this may be the reason why she loves and perceives Spain so much! You will see unique picturesque sceneries, and delicate sensual portraits of inhabitants of this outstanding and peculiar land.
The second part of the exhibition consists of personalities loved and respected by the gallery, people who visited it, well-known and unfamiliar at the same time: P.J. Harvey, an absolute "love and tenderness", usually inapproachable; and the cold Georgy Gurianov dispensing autographs with a kind and peaceful smile; the wise and delicate Sergey Sergeyev rowdy and obstinate; Vladislav Mamyshev-Monroe in various guises; an iconic film director Jos Stelling with his eyes full of mischief and game, and many others. "Freeze" is also the final, conclusive event of D137 gallery as we know it, on Nevsky Prospect! The gallery is making a pause and this, as mentioned above, is sometimes very useful for the evaluation and the comprehension of what is going on, as well as for the renewal in the future.
See you at our new place!
