Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear friends of fruehsorge contemporary drawings
On Saturday September 29th there will be a joint opening of all galleries at Heidestrasse. Together with Spielhaus Morrison Galerie we would like to welcome our new neighbours Haunch of Venison (London / Zurich) and AA Galleries, as well as the temporary sculpture projects I like to move it and Infernoesque.
We will celebrate this event with a co-organised party featuring various performances and musical acts - All of us are looking forward to a succesful collegial relationship in the future at this new venue on Berlin's art map.
We are happy to present the show simple lines deep spaces with new works on paper by artist Frank Badur.
Badur has been very succesfully working in the small format in his Katsura- and Grid Drawings. Besides them, we fokus in the current presentation on the large scale papers (120 x 160 cm) as well as on the vertical format drawings which are reminiscent of asian paper scrolls.
Using pencil, colored pencil and gouache on arches and chinese cai lun paper Badur creates rhythmical fields which draw their intriguing presence from stark light-dark contrast as well as from subtle lines and grids employed on colored grounds.
The viewer is facing complex and sophisticated spaces of perception, tuned differently in "temperature" and energy.
