René Block has arranged this exhibition with artists from the Balkan area. Artists we ought to know. Block says:

"In contrast to many artists from the Balkan area, we tend to forget that freedom has to be conquered on a daily basis. Accordingly, this was one of the reasons for me to choose the word FREE as the title of the first of two exhibitions at Galleri Susanne Ottesen, dedicated to artists from the region of the Balkans. In their works, the five artists from Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia and Turkey reflect our own indifference towards dealing with subjects like violence, hate, death and oppression."
