The show "Schrapnell from Märchenland" flips between the real artic and the imagined - reality versus artificiality- it provokes curiosity. We all think we know the Arctic well - or at least know something about by having watched numerous news reports and documentations on TV. Ian Burn's works deal with that issue and translate an actual arctic experience contrary to the expected and consistently repeated clichés. The experiences portrayed are based on Burn's trip to the arctic last October. Between this flippings are positioned works that play on found object phenomenology.
