From March 18 to May 15, 2009
The OMC Gallery is presenting International Photography and photo based work.

The exhibition includes rare pieces based on the collaboration of Zwelethu Mthethwa with Louis Jansen van Vuuren and Willie Bester from South Africa, a unique photo installation of Amador (Spain), early work of Candida Hoefer (Germany) and Michael Kenna (England) and one example of the already sold out portfolio 'Royal Blood' by Erwin Olaf (Netherlands) lately auctioned at Sotheby's New York for $27,500. Also available, but very affordable are exquisite platinum prints by Nick Dekker, Master Printer and a longtime teacher at Brooks Institute for Photography in Santa Barbara.

Several up and coming photographers like Jolande des Bouvrie (NL) or Edouard de'Pazzi (France), whose work has been presented already at the Maison Europeenne de la Photographie in Paris or Alvin Booth (UK) whose diverse erotical serials explore different facets of the subject matter and convince a growing number of collectors. The exquisite hand toned photographs of Tom Baril (USA) the former Master Printer of Robert Mapplethorpe add to the concept of the show, which is to provide a competent insight into current photography trends around the world.

Connoisseurs of black and white photography will enjoy the documentary work of English photographer Harold Chapman or Horace Bristol (USA) and the approach of Pavel Odvody (Czech Republic), whose still life and portrait photography often is the result of precise experiments with multiple exposure and whose 4x5" and 8x10" contact prints convince with technical perfection and their richness in grey shades and details.

Andrej Glusgold and Florian Beckers are show casing examples of Contemporary German Photography. Both artists have developed their own distinguished approach and prefer a narrative photo style.
