Zoumboulakis Galleries is proud to present the solo show by Dutch photographer Ivo Eman on the 31 March 2009.
The exhibition presents a series of photographs that portray dreamy sceneries with lonely people in deserted landscapes, while at the same time they suggest a sense of preordain reality. The angle that the pictures are taken from gives the viewer the feeling that he is part of the picture while their composition is intensively theatrical, surreal and humorous as well.
Ivo Eman is inspired by 'The Dream', which for him is the struggle between reality and desire. His work always narrates a story without though stating the obvious; on the contrary the aim is to set the viewer into a process of wondering what is happening behind each image. The story in the long-term roots in the subconscious, since an important picture recurs in the mind and it is a stimulus for thought and imagination.
