Thavibu Gallery is pleased to present the art exhibition Camouflage with new paintings by the Thai artist Jirapat Tatsanasomboon on 18 September - 10 October, 2010.

Jirapat is well known for applying a pop-art style to his paintings which often feature interactions between the East-West and Modern-Traditional. He appropriates images from well-known European masterpieces and inserts readily identifiable Thai iconography as a commentary on Thai society by re-interpreting the celebrated master paintings and using them as 'camouflage'.

Jirapat Tatsanasomboon is 39 years old and one of Thailand's talented and upcoming artists. He graduated from Silapakorn University in 1999 and has participated in several exhibitions in Thailand and also in Korea (2003), USA (2006), Singapore (2008), China (2008), India (2009), Monaco (2010) and Argentina (2010).

An online catalogue is available on his web page - and the exhibition catalogue as a pdf file can be downloaded for free from the website.
