JOHN M ARMLEDER
CLAUS H JENSEN
24th of January - 7th of marts, 2009
SPECTA is proud to present a group show with John M Armleder, Claus H Jensen and Gerold Miller. Three artists, who hardly need further introduction, and who flirt with colour, strong geometry and minimalism. Common denominator of the works presented, is that they set off in the way proportion and colour effect the viewers perception.
Armleder generally works in various continuing series and for this show he has made five brand new laquer on aluminium works. Using simple means, these two-coloured works play with the viewer's perception and creates a sense of constant movement in the proportions of the works.
In Claus Jensen's paintings, simple monochrome canvases test the viewers interpretation of proportion and size. The works by Claus Jensen are clean-cut minimalistic and for this show he has made three large, slim works together with four paper works.
As Armleder and Jensen, Gerold Miller places his works between object and painting. The works by Miller have a smooth and clean surface, a surface which is an aim in itself. His "Total Objects"-series is a series of small formats, all with a cut-out. Hereby the focus and balance in an otherwise very monochrome surface is moved. Furthermore Miller shows works from his "Instant Vision"-series, again smaller formats with cut-outs, and in this case a variety of surfaces.
