João Paulo Serafim, Palas no Acervo MIIAC, 2009
Inkjet on fine art, 140 x 160 cm. Edition of 5 | | |
The artist presents his most recent pictures that are the result of his investigation about the MIIAC, The improbable Museum of Images and Contemporary Art. This exposition works as a public introduction to get to know better the imaginary museum that is a creation of the artist. The artist leads us with the pictures through the museologic space: the exhibition galleries, the collection, the depot. . . Since 2005, the artist began to show a deeper interest for the logic of the museum and gallery spaces. Hence, his work of the last years is the reflex of this particular research: the MIIAC, an imaginary museum, turned into a stage for an imaginary space of personal and collective memories.
