This month Niagara is also pleased to present our first show of works by Julie Dowling.

Julie has created a series of portraits or icons focused around the stolen generation.

Each face is sensitively rendered and then haloed by a special collar of raised colour and design. Julie Dowling subverts the traditional power relations between the colonised and the coloniser - in this case turning the powerless into the divine.
