Painting and sculpture - souls, creatures, beings - but no characters. Klahre creates his small indiviuals as paintings on aluminium and as sculptures on slats. By means of movement and spatial reference, Klahre conjugates - similar to a grammar - various instances and forms of being of the figures.
In his paintings, these figures peel themselves out of or dig themselves into the paint, crowd out of the painting and the space or are likely grown together with the spatial elements.
The sculptures stand freely in the space, to be observed similar to a test object on its groping search for orientation. The sculpture is equally brilliant and perceived with the same virtuosity as the creatures from the paintings, they seem to having arisen from the images and turn out to be paintings, only in a different medium.
