Zoumboulakis Galleries present new works by Kostas-Iraklis Georgiou in an exhibition under the title "This Wonderful Nothing…",. The show opens on Thursday 15 January 2009 and is curated by Katerina Koskina.
The exhibition entails a series of inkjet on archival paper images formed by countless 'pulsating' black lines on white background. The works, graphics on computer designed by the artist, present a personal language, both spoken and oral, suggesting a different version of viewing the visual. Every image tends To be rather than Signify.
Kostas-Iraklis Georgiou in "This Wonderful Nothing…" deals perhaps with the most obscure and misunderstood concept of civilization, the idea of NOTHING. This idea plays different roles across Philosophy, Science, Art. Today zero has become the moving power of the world considering that the computer 'bits' are nothing but the succession of infinite zeros and aces. |
