From May, 15 till May, 18 2008 "D137" gallery, Saint-Petersburg and "Michael Tsarev Art projects" represent Marina Fedorova's personal exhibition "The Lonely" in parallel program of «Art Moscow Fair 2008», in «The Red Hall», Winzavod.
Marina Fedorova is a young, but successful artist: 6 personal exhibitions, participation in the largest fairs of contemporary art, like "Art Moscow" and "Art Bologna", in 2007 - Marina - the official artist of the international festival of ballet in "Maryinsky Theater", in 2008 - the artist of year, «Nicolas Feuillatte» choice and same year she was included into number of the most perspective young artists by "Forbes" magazine. There will be presented about 30 works at the exhibition united by a theme "The Lonely".
Marina Fedorova is distinguished by her ability to show her subject in the flash of its total disclosure. At the same time, the artist does not yield to the style and spirit her protagonists, even if they are legendary fashion designers. She definitely has her own style and there is no reason that would make her to give up being herself. Portraits of fashion designers and genre pictures-frames are made in Fedorova's own style - they employ the manner of cinema posters of the Nouvelle Vague time, the wintry language of pop art's transcription of advertisements and the quickness of magazine illustrations that absorb the light glare of fashion.
Since Fedorova's pictures seem to be infiltrated with the lipstick carmine they are superficially attributed by critics to the currently popular trend of trash glamour.
It is known for a long time, that artist's masterpieces are selfportraing. Speed of glance, body movements, strength of touch are reflected in dinamic shape and graphic hand-writing. Marina Fedorova uses brush softly and confidently. This sharp professional skill is mixed with swinging, interrupting rhythm of movements and shape arrangement. Breath in and out pause is a frame for a row of visial pictures. Lines, color spots, drawn words are indefinite and as a result they have potential - immanent to our time.
