October 21th – December 16th 2006
opening reception: October 21th, 6pm - 10pm
Kuckei + Kuckei is happy to present "Raum 10", the latest work by Michael Laube. You are cordially invited to this event.
In his exhibition at Kuckei + Kuckei Michael Laube presents a wall installation, which ties up to past module works. As material for each item Michael Laube uses transparent acrylic glass in several layers. Thus an evolvement of the space by the spectator's observation is initiated. As the viewer moves along the object, new colours are continuously blended by the overlapping of different colour swatches. Through the visible brushstroke misty areas emerge, which create spaces of their own due to the underlying coloured layers.
As opposed to earlier works in this work the structural connection of the various modules isn't made by lines and stripes in painted structures, but by circular forms. These partially span across several modules, so that in this place the single elements aren't exchangeable.
The arrangement of the modules on the wall isn't a complete, much more a rampant, blasted image. Therefor the installation remains an open system and allows the spectator to notionally add and carry on the placement of the "missing" parts.
