Mikhail Rozanov is a star of the contemporary art photography. Collaborating with Aidan Gallery for many years he's founded his own distinctive style of works, which belong to the category of contemporary art. Furthermore his works for international editions, such as «Vogue», «Maxim», «Playboy», «Wallpaper», characterize his style in modern photography. This is the fourth personal exhibition of Mikhail Rozanov in Saint-Petersburg. Before his exhibitions «The Landcapes» (1995), «The Flowers» (1997) and «The Embankment» (1999) were presented in the New Academy of Fine Art.

Future photographer became a famous very early, when he played the main role in Sergey Solovjev's film «Black Rose is Emblem of Grief, Red Rose is Emblem of Love» (1989). In youth he got to the narrow circle of Bohemia's at the end of XXth century. In the beginning of his creative way Alexsey Tegin, Timur Novikov, Yegor Lebedev, Peter Mamonov, Boris Grebenshikov were his older comrades and teachers. Studying history of medieval ages in the Moscow University, studies of fighting arts and fine arts brought up in Rozanov noble spirit and aspiration for lofty and beauty. In his first works we have already could see rudiments of a new ideal, establishing with social anxiety and ironic in the beginning of 1990. The theme of Rozanov's works becoming flowers, elements of water and air, monumental images of architecture. Critics pointed out a special laconism of his creation and in the circle of Petersburg's Neoacademism he was a glory of «Rodchenko of Neoclassic» for the refined constructive of his compositions. The internal balance and spiritual calmness with unusual grace, which completed the essence of Rozanov's art, has the source in the principals of traditional, but not in contemporary and actual creation. It is near to high poetry of Provan's knights or to a philosophical painting of the main Japan master of Musasi's sword, who depicted the sun-rises on the mountains and the birds on flowering branches in XVI century. All arts, which the perfect human was mastered, based on the internal self-control and spiritual self-perfection.

The cycle of black and white architectural photography, is presented at the Mikhail Rozanov, was created by Mikhail Rozanov in 2004-2005. Photos, which size is 50x70, units in groups for three photos and create balance compositions. Strong rhythm of colonnades in this works arguers with sky. As Vinkelmann, the creator of style's theory, saw strolling of real art about countries and epochs, Mikhail Rozanov finds his inspiration in different geographic points of our planet and different monuments of different centuries. Neoclassical architectural motives, which are allied in their spirit, make one unit cycle and were made in Saint-Petersburg, Barselona, Moscow and Budapest. In the second hall lighter and softer works are presented, in which staircase's architecture, balustrades and cupolas are seen through haze and water spray of fountains.

There are no anything coincidence in the Rozanov's photos, they are romantic like dreams and at the same time they are resolutely strong of their inner structure. In all details and in all composition harmony is spread. Everything is important and clear here. This artist doesn't open new worlds and doesn't confuse contemporaries by impudence of his searching: he is striving for the highest synthesis, for the perfection of the form. Looking at the Mikhail Rozanov's works you feel absolutely special ennoble feeling: glad liberation from all small and vain with joining to the big and light.
