 Neil Taylor, Synth, 2011, painted soldered wire, 21 x 14 x 11.5cm. (14699) | | |
A busy two years has seen Taylor as a finalist in the McClelland Sculpture Award, feature work at the Korea International Art Fair, and hold a solo exhibition at Maria Lund Gallery, Paris. He has also managed to produce yet another body of intricate, detailed sculptures for his current exhibition at Niagara Galleries. Wire is methodically cut, bent, soldered and otherwise co-erced into forms that are based on the geometry of the cube yet show mesmerizingly distorted possiblilties within their interior spaces. Startling colour on the more organic forms is a feature. Taylor is also exhibiting a selection of exquisite small pen drawings, floating within customised wire frames.
