 Installation View, Friedrich Petzel Gallery, 2002 | | |
Marianne Boesky and Friedrich Petzel galleries are pleased to announce a collaborative exhibition curated by Mark Fletcher. The exhibition will be on view from June 6 through August 15, 2002 at 535 West 22nd Street, Floors 1 & 2, Tuesday through Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm.
PENETRATION was initially conceived as a way of thinking about how to organize a cohesive thematic exhibition between two separate galleries, which, in this case, lay one on top of the other. Through the process, the exhibition has become a much broader purview into contemporary art making practice within the context of the heightened awareness of the post millennium. The exhibition explores the more formal, conceptual, architectural, and the overtly sexual aspects of this topic, while creating an environment which engenders an open dialog between more established artworks with works which have only recently been made.
