Again in 2009, Preview Berlin will be a place for discoveries. At Berlin’s youngest and most successful satellite art fair, national as well as international galleries and project spaces will present works from a new generation of emerging artists. Collectors, experts and art lovers will meet here to experience the art of tomorrow. Preview Berlin is a non-profit organization, with the aim to create a platform for young galleries to present the latest trends in the art world and put these up for discussion.

After two successful editions at Hangar 2, Preview Berlin – The Emerging Art Fair is moving this year to the main hall of the former Berlin Central Airport.

With the new location Preview Berlin sets up a new, different exhibition concept, moving away from the idea of the classic art fair. This new approach is born as a solution to the specific requirements of the landmark building, which has inspired this new fair concept: to bring together art pieces that can be more freely exhibited, without the restraint of the classic booth walls – allowing a more intense focus on the fields of sculpture, installation, performance and video. The new, historic setting will be the perfect stage for this challenging artistic discourse.

As in previous editions of the fair, a jury has selected the most interesting proposals from the submitted applications– whereas the distribution and placement of the artwork pieces will be organized by a curator this year. This new concept offers - both fair organization and participating galleries – the opportunity to experience an intense collaboration and new forms of presentation and experimentation.
