Devoted to photography since 1985, the Musée de l’Elysée, which is located in Lausanne, Switzerland, celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2010. Highly esteemed for the quality and the variety of its activities, the Institution offers exhibitions of an international scope which show the multiplicity of all existing photographic practices. Over 1’000 projects have been presented in Lausanne and all around the world. Its rich collections are composed of more than 100’000 original prints from the XIXth, XXth and XXIth centuries in addition to the entire Charlie Chaplin photographic archive. Center of expertise in various fields such as curatorial work, research and documentation, the museum collaborates with universities, art schools, art institutions and publishing houses. Its off-site activities have resulted in major exhibitions in internationally renowned institutions in Switzerland, Europe, North and South America as well as in Asia. |
