On Thursday 15 January 2004, A arte Studio Invernizzi presents a solo exhibition of Rodolfo AricÚ where works on canvas and a series of collages on canvas and paper from 2002 will be presented.

In these works the basic question of Arico's language develops into an unstable definition, into a rational restlessness. These elements appear powerfully as from the Eighties, when AricÚ's work on Form develops an important metamorphosis. The Form takes a substancial irregularity, becoming a sort of "Form of Non-Form" which is not resolvable in any plainly decipherable way. The Form becomes the extreme limit between a reason, that aspires to completely express itself, and the absolute indefinition of an Original that is both pre-formal and pre-subjective. An Original which precedes the Form because it precedes the "principium individuationis" itself.

AricÚ took place at the source of the artistical act, where Form arises from the Indeterminate, from the place where all the forms melt at the limit of nothing.

On the occasion of the exhibition, a bilingual catalogue will be published, including a critical essay by Luca Massimo Barbero, the images of the works installed in the gallery, a poem by Carlo Invernizzi and a bio-bibliographical note.

Rodolfo AricÚ (Milan, 1930 - 2000) is invited in 1964 at the XXXII Venice Biennale; as from 1966 he begins his reflection on the objective aspects of art.
In 1968 he is invited at the XXXIV Venice Biennale for a solo exhibition, realizing with his works an authentic enviromental situation.
In 1974 an anthological exhibition is organized at Palazzo Grassi, in Venice.
In 1980 he presents a solo exhibition at Casa del Mantegna in Mantua, in which he investigates the connections between architecture, painting and myth.
In 1984 he shows his historical works and a group of new pieces at Padiglione d'Arte Contemporanea, in Milan.

In the Nineties, he presents a series of solo exhibitions in Milan; in 2003 the Kaiserliche Hofburg in Innsbruck presents the exhibition "Im Element. Die Kraft des Kosmischen und des Irdischen im Werk von Rodolfo AricÚ und Rudi Wach".
