Curators: António Gonçalves and Patrícia Rosas
This exhibition is primarily based on the first stages in the artistic career of Júlio dos Reis Pereira (1902-1983), placing emphasis on the painter's surrealist and expressionist work. The majority of the works on display will be drawings, along with some oil paintings, dating from the period between the 1930s and the 1960s, in which the artist marked out an original, individual route in his desire to bring the surrealist revolution to Portugal.
An exhibition organized on the basis of a partnership between the CAM - Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian and the Fundação Cupertino de Miranda, both of which institutions hold a significant number of the artist's works in their collections. |
