Robert Meijer & Christophe Wiesner present:

I don't want to say anything.
You should just come and enjoy...
... as if you were walking in a landscape.
But without architecture and urbanity.
For us, that's over. Finished. Ciao.
Our landscape has volume fillers and space takers.
A lower landscape: craters, pedestals, parking barriers, staircases...
The model houses are there because they are built from the bottom up.
Just like the trees.
But you can settle down into a lower landscape, too.
That's where the jeans come in.
The jeans in the crater. We showed you that.
And the seahorse with the duck.
Water - need we say more?
Well, let's not forget the intimate landscapes behind every artist, every work.
Like Matthew's philosophical talk about Romantic literature in Basel.
We were at a party, lying in beach chairs outside, listening to him, all night long.
And the landscape became more compact and personal as he spoke...
Here, you will feel big at first, just like you first feel small under the stars.
But you'll have to add your own philosophical talk.
After this show, we plan to start on the ceiling and work downwards.
We are going to do high landscapes, the landscape as precipitation.
Tears! Come on: you forgot about the farewell.
Oh yes - then we all go away and come back as something else.
A break, a vacation, a change. You know... we need that, too.
To remain personal.
And to fill space differently.
An exhibition in two parts.
(Part II): 22.10.-27.11.2004
A catalogue will be published.
