Dear Ladies & Gentlemen, dear friends of the gallery,

we wish that the new year started well for you and that it will bring pleasant surprises along. We will begin the year with a solo exhibition for the Beijing based artist YANG SHAOBIN, who got aquainted in Europe at the Venice Biennale 1999 with his red-toned largesized portraits and who is belonging to the top flights of Chinese painters since then.

With eight paintings out of the serie "GREY PAINTINGS" PRÜSS & OCHS GALLERY dedicates the second soloshow to the artist. After his "red" paintings which made him quckly popular, this time "grey" paintings are in the center. Unmistakable remains his painting diction and style with which he releives from the realism of his artist-generation, the "cynical realists". The figurative paintings signalize an impulsiv pictorial painting process imbued with abstract and diffuse color areas and floating tracks.
