Yukako Ando, find-a-friend, 2002, 540 x 950 mm, c-print, taken from the project: inside wall
Schuebbe Projects is pleased to announce done, an exhibition featuring new photographic works by Yukako Ando.
Yukako Ando does not give definition of her photo work. Depending on the object, she looks for her adequate expression: Performance, Object, Installation or exactly Photo. She is an artist and she uses photographic methods, including combining the documentation of action with text. Her photo work comes into being while developing a project. She does consider it important, that this work constitutes an independent category of working process.
"Could you imagine, the world would exist in the manner of pictures? ... in theory it should work, but ... !?!?!?" Yukako Ando's works are all about strong sociological aspects, not about academic investigations, but aesthetic commitment.
Her art is self-centred, but never indifferent and always
