requests that you save the following four dates in June and July for a film and video program:

June 20th 2008 - 9:30pm

An artist-centered tradition in Danish film beginning in the 1960s and best exemplified by Jørgen Leth, whose work existed outside of the mainstream, drawing inspiration from poetry, visual arts, theatre, and particularly Jean-Luc Godard.

Alice and Wonderland
July 1st 2008 - 9:30pm

The psychedelic film (or the Hollywood LSD film) became popular in the early 1960s and quickly vanished again by the mid-1970s. This showing is an overview of works that began previous to these dates and ended later, from George Melies to Kenneth Anger, Alejandro Jodorowsky to Brice Dellsperger.

Stocking Top and Swing

Pop music and art merge. Music videos have increasingly emancipated themselves from a purely illustrative and advertising functionality. Artists working in the format of music video and/or clip; e.g. Cosey Fanni Tutti, Phil Collins or Chris Cunningham.

Toxic Sunset

The youngest of Philippine art forms, film has evolved to become the most popular. Introduced in 1897, films have ranged from silent movies to talkies; black-and-white to color. The younger generation consisting of filmmakers such as Kvahn, Brilliante Mendoza and Lav Diaz.
