One of the most important new features presented this year by the Artesantander art fair is undoubtedly the launch of a new programme known as Projets Santander 2016, supported by Fundación 2016, which will open up new horizons and provide a new focus to the event.
This project is curated by the art critic Oscar Molina and presents the work of eight artists (Santiago Alcocer, Kristoffer Ardeña, Juan Carlos Bracho, Philipp Fröhlich, Anne-Lise Coste, Regina de Miguel, Natividad Bermejo and Jesús Zurita) which, in the words of Molina himself, “encompasses some of the most stimulating proposals adopted by contemporary art in the last two decades in its drive to organise narrative formats in an unconventional way, without relinquishing a certain reflection of events and stories”, The work of these eight artists will be present as monologues in each of the galleries that represent them, respectively - Espacio Mínimo, Oliva Arauna, Carles Taché, Soledad Lorenzo, Nogueras Blanchard, Maisterravalbuena, Estrany de la Mota and Sandunga – and aims to provide a starting point for future projects at fairs held in coming years.
