A performative evening I
Hosted by Calla Henkel & Max Pitegoff

The first of two performative evenings in the framework of the exhibition "What Were You Expecting, Mr. Milquetoast, a Plot?" will be hosted by the artist duo Calla Henkel & Max Pitegoff. The artists themselves as well as the author Pablo Larios will be reading different texts, that emerged in the context of their Bar Times and New Theater. The event will be accompanied by music.

Calla Henkel & Max Pitegoff have been working together since 2009. Driven by their interest in workplace hierarchies and the role of the artist in the service industry they opened up the Bar Times in Berlin in 2011 and the New Theater in August 2013. The photographs in the exhibition also illustrate the artist duo's interest in the process of production. They show their artist friends as they went through their production receipts from the year. The receipts become stand-ins for the actual works.

Pablo Larios is an author. Together with Calla Henkel & Max Pitegoff and Dena Yago he wrote the play "Farming in Europe" which was played at the opening of New Theater.

The event will be in English
