From 1972 to 1977 Marianne Wex photographed people and their body language in the streets of Hamburg and juxtaposed women and men according to the specific positioning of arms and legs, feet, knees, elbows, hands, shoulders, and heads. Images and explanatory texts were transferred onto panels as collages. At Badischer Kunstverein this work is shown in such a broad scope for the first time in Germany since the 1970s.
Wex's work about body language is closely connected with her engagement in the topic of self healing. She has given various workshops and lectures on this topic in Germany and abroad since the 1980s.
We cordially invite you to take part in a workshop with Marianne Wex in the Kunstverein. The workshop will take place in the exhibition.
