On the occasion of the opening of his exhibition Life + Reality in the DNA Gallery on Friday 10 June at 7 p.m. Tatsumi Orimoto will be showing his performance Finger Dolls + Dirty Dolls

On the opening night, Orimoto will perform Finger Dolls + Dirty Dolls in which he interacts with dolls - some he has made, some he has found and collected on the streets of the places he has visited in his travels around the world during the last 20 years. Like a puppet master, he simulates talking with the dolls - using gesture and mimicry - and physically connects with the dolls, carrying the larger ones on his back or playing with the finger dolls on his hands.

The exhibition also shows new works from Orimoto's ongoing series Art Mama + Son and Art Mama + Son + Dolls. In recognition of the 10-year continual collaboration between Tatsumi Orimoto and DNA Berlin, the exhibition furthermore presents a video archive with twelve videos by Orimoto, covering the range of his career.

The press is asked to register beforehand:

Auguststraße 20
10117 Berlin

Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

The exhibition will be on show from 10 June to 13 August 2011
