Roger Ballen

Roger Ballen is regarded as one of the world's foremost practitioner's of black and white photography. He has been shooting in monochrome for nearly half a century, from his renowned documentary images of South African villagers to his recent extraordinary explorations of the psyche and its aesthetic.

Nobuyoshi Araki is arguably Japan's greatest living photographer. His inexhaustible creative energy is attested to by more than 400 books he has published in the last four decades, while his work, which often challenges social taboos surrounding sex and death, has drawn critical attention both at home and abroad.

Born in London in 1964, Miles Aldridge has published his photographs in such influential magazines as Vogue Italia, American Vogue, Numéro, The New York Times, The New Yorker, and Paradis. His work has been exhibited in numerous group shows, among which his solo shows 'The Cabinet' (2006) and 'Acid Candy' (2008) at Galerie Alex Daniels - Reflex Amsterdam. and 'Pictures for Photographs' at Steven Kasher Gallery, New York, 2010.

The photo as seen above on the right is currently on view in the traveling exhibition: 'The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk', started out in Museum of Montreal of Fine Arts. Following it's presentation in Montreal, the exhibition will embark on an international tour, with presentations at the Dallas Museum of Art (November 13, 2011 - February 12, 2012), the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, DeYoung (March 24 - August 19, 2012), the Fundación Mapfre - Instituto de Cultura, Madrid (September 26 - November 18, 2012), and the Kunsthal Rotterdam, the Netherlands (February 9 - May 12, 2013).

This beautiful photo is part of a triptych from the serie titled: 'Immaculee'. CLICK HERE to find more information about this product.

The artist and writer Harland Miller is known for his large-scale, playful reworkings of Penguin book covers.

With their dripping paint and smudgy blurring, they have more in common with the aesthetic of Rothko than the uniformity of a mass-produced paperback.

Miller is attracted to books as objects - the more battered, stained and lived in the better. "I remember my parents' Penguin books. For me, they are about nostalgia for a by-gone era - that musty smell, those coffee-mug rings, the often heart-breaking inscriptions on the inside cover."

* Free shipping in the Netherlands, outside the Netherlands all shipping above 2 kilo will be charged for only 5,- Euro's.
