   We are proud and happy to announce that the gallery is representing the estate of Anna Oppermann.

In September / October 2010 we are planning an extensive solo presentation in the gallery.

Anna Oppermann (1940 - 1993)

In the course of the 1970s, Anna Oppermann gained international fame - among other things by featuring at documenta 6 and documenta 8 - with works that she called "ensembles". Each ensemble, frequently developed over a period of several years, begins with a small still life consisting of a found object that the artist treated as an allegory of a certain question. Oppermanns work combined process, concept and pictorial art in a unique manner: both in terms of the art of the 1970s and with regard to current artistic practices.

In 2007/2008 the Württembergische Kunstverein Stuttgart as well as the Generali Foundation in Vienna presented for the first time after the artist's death a large retrospective of the ensemble art, and edited an extensive catalogue on Oppermann's ensembles.
