WAGNER + PARTNER GALLERY PRESENTS 5 INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS AT PULSE ART FAIR NEW YORK 3 – 6 MAY 2012 NEW YORK – Berlin gallery WAGNER+PARTNER will showcase a compelling spectrum of artists at this year’s PULSE Art Fair New York, running alongside the new Frieze Art Fair for the first time. With Raissa Venables (USA), Natascha Stellmach (Australia) and Thomas Wrede (Germany), three innovative photographic positions will be shown. These are complemented by new works from 79 year-old painter Peter Dreher (Germany) and linocuts by Claas Gutsche (Germany) with part of the WAGNER+PARTNER booth presented as a linocut wallpaper installation. Thomas Wrede who frequently exhibits in and is collected in the USA will show photographs from his ongoing series, “Real Landscapes”. New Yorker Raissa Venables’ photographs are fascinating interiors from both NYC and Europe in brilliant colours. Natascha Stellmach builds on the success of her recent solo installation at PULSE Miami, December 2011 with two powerful works from her “Threats – Hate Mail” series that respond to her controversial project with the ashes of Kurt Cobain. Claas Gutsche transforms the booth with linocut wallpaper into an ambivalent room, pulsating between attraction and repulsion. With Peter Dreher’s painting “Silver Bowls”, a motif returns to New York that the painter began in 1981 while he lived there for six months. PULSE, alongside Frieze and Nada will become a not-to-be-missed event on the New York contemporary art calendar this May.
