Lina Albrikienė (born 1984) lives and works in Vilnius. In 2009, she graduated from the Department of Photography and Media in Vilnius Academy of Arts with a Master's Degree. Since 2004, she has been actively participating in group exhibitions and holding personal shows. The artist mostly employs mechanical and digital image production measures: video and photography, and sometimes installation.

In 2011, Albrikienė won the Grand Prix of the international project Young European Artists (JCE). The awarded video Vilnius from the Archives of My Childhood (I). Lazdynai (Vilnius iš mano vaikystės archyvų. Lazdynai, 2009) will tour nine European countries until 2013. Also the artist got an opportunity to reside in France for three months. Also, her video, as well as the works from the other two JCE winners, was exhibited in "BeLa Editions" gallery in Brussels (2012).

The latest project from the artist titled A Study of a Leg (2012) consists of two parts and two subtitles: photographs (A Study of the Right Leg) and a sound installation (A Study of the Left Leg (I)). Three studio pictures of a prosthetic leg tell the personal story of Albrikien?'s brother who has lost his leg in an accident. In the sound installation we can hear a sound of left leg jumping. In this action artist want to identify with and personate the other, i. e. her brother and his physical disability.

Contemporary art gallery VARTAI organises open reviews of artworks which introduce the latest works of a selected artist and analyse the genre, development, uniqueness and potential of his or her artwork.

Through the Thursday reviews, VARTAI gallery aims to collect and publicise the latest news on the works of contemporary artists, provide a more exhaustive introduction of the authors, promote works of acclaimed artists and discover new promising names.
