Heppen Transfer

Heppen Transfer

Private Gallery

Heppen Transfer Heppen Transfer is located in a historic apartment-house built in the beginning of XX century by a famous architect of the secession period - Mr. Waclaw Heppen, hence the name of our gallery. We have a beautiful space of 160 square meters with excellently preserved original interior details, such as decorative hardwood floors and stuccoes on ceilings of each room, as well as a hypnotic view on Warsaw. We invested a lot of energy into restoring these details, which present a fascinating contrast to the contemporary art exhibited in this setting. The gallery opened with a group show in June 2008. Since the opening it has aroused significant interests of both art world and the general public and raised a considerable media response.

The area of our interests focuses mainly on progressive and experimental art across all media with a stress on exceptional works on paper, contemporary sculpture and objects, video art and painting. Artists in center of our attention are from Poland and abroad, especially from Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic, although not exclusively. The gallery shows both established and young artists on the very start of their careers. Our goal is to support all efforts that serve art, artists professional and general public by creating new opportunities for all sorts of projects, especially works that don't fall into typical art categories or artistic actions or so called artworld.

Heppen Transfer is run by Henrietta Varju and it is also created by the artists and their projects coming into existence and being presented within the gallery space.

The gallery is open for public in regular hours from Tuesday to Friday from 12.00 to 6.00 PM.
