A Live Gallery Reading for Vinyl Recording
With actors Stephen Brennan, Anita Reeves and Maura Foley
Tuesday 2 July 2013 at 12.50pm
Elsie's Counter is a short play devised and written for vinyl record, by artist Jessica Foley in response to the LFTT Library and inspired by Foley's own grandfather's lending library, which was based in their family shop in Artane, Dublin, in the early 1950's.
Based loosely on the idea of a radio-play recording, Elsie's Counter will be captured as a rehearsed reading, accompanied by Foley Sound, in front of a live audience. Following this, the recording will be pressed to vinyl and will exist as an artwork in the exhibition and 'played' daily for the remaining run.
A reception will follow the reading.
Actors Stephen Brennan and Anita Reeves are in the North East also to perform in the award winning play These Halcyon Days at Solstice Arts Centre, Navanwww.solsticeartscentre.com on 1 and 2 of July, having just returned from performing in New York.
This is a free one-off experience not to be missed, with places limited. Donations welcome This is an adult only event.
