New 'Billboard for Edinburgh' Unveiled

Ingleby Gallery is delighted to announce the installation of Rachel Whiteread's 'Billboard for Edinburgh' at Ingleby Gallery, 15 Calton Road, Edinburgh.


Billboard for Edinburgh is a unique and completely self-funding public art project. Internationally-recognised artists are invited to make a work for the billboard site (located on the external wall of the new Ingleby Gallery).

Rachel Whiteread is the second artist to occupy the billboard space. The inaugural billboard image was created by Mark Wallinger (pictured below). Whiteread's installation will be followed by billboards by Bob & Roberta Smith and Cerith Wyn Evans.

Each billboard image is displayed for a period of three months. The 2009-2010 programme of artists will be announced next summer.


In addition to the billboard poster, each image will be realised as a limited edition print, signed and numbered by the artist. We are delighted to offer these individual works at an affordable £350 + VAT (unframed).
