Fri 25 Sept (Dublin Culture Night) Performance between 4 & 8pm For Culture Night, Kevin Kavanagh is proud to present Margarita Gluzberg's performance piece, Captive Bird Society {Dublin Edition}. The piece is comprised of curious sound layers created from a collection of bird songs to echo patterns of pin stripe. Her work transports us to a universe of symbolic and sensory systems in which reflections on captivity and poetry intermingle. This is Gluzberg's first show in Ireland. Her work ranges from paintings and large-scale drawings to performance and sound installation. Her imagery is a mesh that weaves together Romanticism, consumer culture, fashion, sport and aspects of love. Margarita Gluzberg, b. Moscow, Russia, 1968; lives & works in London. She has done numerous solo presentations of both her painting and performance since 1997 in Britain, Germany and France as well as participating in many group shows internationally.
