Media release GOLDEN LION FOR JOHN BALDESSARI On 6 June 2009, the artist John Baldessari will be awarded the "Golden Lion" in Venice for a Lifetime Achievement as "one of the most important artists of our time". The presentation will take place as part of the 53rd Art Biennale in Venice. The award will be presented by Daniel Birnbaum, rector of the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Frankfurt am Main. Mai 36 Galerie will open the John Baldessari exhibition on Sunday, June 7, 2009. Duration of the exhibition: June 8 to August 8, 2009.
