Don't miss seeing the wonderful work of LENA NYADBI and JULIE DOWLING Exhibition ends 20 December 2012 Lena Nyadbi is about to become the hottest Australian artist in Europe with her upcoming installation on the roof of the Musee du Quay Branly in Paris. This extraordinary new work is designed to be seen from the third-level observation deck of the Eiffel Tower. For her exhibition at Niagara Galleries, Nyadbi presents a suite of rare and exquisite works for the serious collector. Read the wonderful piece by Louise Bellamy about Lena and four other leading Warmun artists here Julie Dowling has created a series of portraits or icons focused around the stolen generation. Each face is sensitively rendered and then haloed by a special collar of raised colour and design. Julie Dowling subverts the traditional power relations between the colonised and the coloniser - in this case turning the powerless into the divine.
