Kevin Lincoln at Australian Print Workshop
To mark its 30th Anniversary, Australian Print Workshop commissioned six leading Australian Artists (notably three of the six are from Niagara's stable - Rick Amor, Kevin Lincoln and Jan Senbergs) to collaborate with APW Printers to produce a new body of print works.
From 25 August, it's Kevin Lincoln's turn. Kevin's new work will be featured at APW alongside a selection of the Artist's most significant prints from the APW Archive collection. Why not come along to the opening on Saturday 25 August from 2pm? The exhibition continues until 15 September.
Melbourne Art Fair 2012
As ever, the Melbourne Art Fair was challenging but wonderful. It is always great to see so many old friends and colleagues, as well as start new conversations with new friends.
It is definitely reinvigorating to see so many art lovers in the one building on a particular weekend in Melbourne looking at and discussing the work of living Australian artists!
A highlight for Niagara was displaying Rick Amor's beautiful sculpture, Man in landscape. This moving sculpture evoked a very strong reaction in many people that was wonderful to see. Plus Arts Hub listed it as one of the fair highlights!
Other highlights were seeing Angela Brennan's moving Sorrow painting as well as David Keeling, Helen Wright and Paul Boston's new directions. Euan Heng's superb works on paper and Neil Taylor's exquisite new sculptures also drew a lot of attention.
We were also delighted to be able to introduce new artists such as Liu Zhuoquan and Rubaba Haider. The whole stand received lots of wonderful feedback.
We are particularly delighted that Noel McKenna's Pug Jug has found a good home.
If we met you for the first time at the fair, please drop in to Richmond or email us and say hello. We would love to continue our conversation.
