|Pippy Houldsworth now represents O ZHANG|
|Born in Guangzhou, China in 1976, O Zhang is one of the most intelligent and provocative Chinese artists working today and has drawn the attention and respect of curators and public institutions worldwide. Her work combines a seemingly neutral approach with a powerful political and social undertone, questioning received ideas of race, nationality and gender to explore of the cross-cultural nature of our society.|
O Zhang has recently had solo exhibitions at Queen's Museum of Art, New York, and Vancouver Art Gallery. Upcoming solo projects in 2011 include The Vilcek Foundation and Forever & Today Inc, New York. Her work has been included in group exhibitions at the Museum Folkwang, Essen, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai, the Kunstmuseum, Bern, the Kunsthalle Museum, Hamburg, the Museum of Modern Art, Salzburg, and the Millennium Monument Art Museum, Beijing, and is in the collections of the Guggenheim Museum, Santa Barbara Museum, Vancouver Art Gallery, Clifford Chance Art Collection, Millennium Monument Art Museum and Uli Sigg Art Collection.
O Zhang lives and works in New York and is also represented by CRG Gallery, New York and Pekin Fine Arts, Beijing.
